Benefits Of Timely And Quality Maintenance Of Draught Fans

The importance of timely and quality maintenance of draught fans can never be overstated. Both the varieties of industrial fans i.e. forced draught (FD) and induced draught (ID) fans have to almost continuously keep running to support industrial production. In light of that, it is of paramount relevance that periodic maintenance of these blowers is done. Otherwise, the process and ultimately the output will be seriously affected.

  • When regular maintenance works are carried out for a forced draught blower, its efficiency will never decline. This is in terms of bringing in outside air and pushing it with the required pressure into the heating system. The process of combustion will then go on unhindered.
  • In the same way, an induced draught fan also stands to benefit from frequent maintenance. This blower plays the crucial role of promptly gathering flue gasses in the combustion chamber and expelling them into the external environment. The chamber thus becomes free of all pollutants. The induced draught fans will be able to do full justice to this job only when they are properly maintained.
  • Both FD and the ID fans need to work in coordination to ensure that the combustion process progresses smoothly. This is an essential aspect if the system has to work at maximum efficiency, as well. A plant/factory will not be in a position to achieve that objective if they are negligent about the appropriate maintenance of these blowers.
  • Safety is an aspect of utmost significance in all industrial plants. And, to keep the plant and staff safe at all times, along with other measures, the right maintenance of draught fans is highly relevant. That ensures that there is never an accumulation of contaminants within the premises; the health of the employees is safeguarded. But, when fans that are not in good condition are used in processes, the well-being of people around is gravely endangered.
  • Because the ID blowers incessantly handle noxious gasses, they are more susceptible to corrosion than the FD variants. In this context, maintaining the blowers, as required, becomes much more important.
  • All industrial plants look for ways to bring down the energy costs. And, one of the best ways to realize that goal is to make sure that quality maintenance is done for draught fans. Fans that are correctly maintained work in such a way that the efficiency of operations improves with a simultaneous decline in costs specific to energy. On the other hand, improperly maintained blowers bring about an abnormal increase in energy expenses. That is something that no business desires.
  • Draught fans that aren’t maintained according to the schedule have the risk of suddenly ceasing to function. When this happens, plenty of time is consumed in repairing the blowers, and the processes come to a total standstill for the entire duration. This adverse possibility can easily be avoided, all that the plant has to do is maintain the fans following the standard maintenance schedule.
  • Periodic maintenance helps the staff and management identify defects in the very early stages. Things can be rectified more easily and quickly instead of neglecting maintenance. This markedly minimizes the risk of major repairs involving huge costs, at a future point in time.
